The Model Glider Competition was held at Côte d’Or Stadium on 2 May 2023, with 29 teams participating in the finals. The Chief Guest was Mr Sachidanund Rambrichh Deputy Director of Civil Aviation.

The winners category 1 (Grade 10):

🥇Sookdeo Bissoondoyal State College (Supervised by Mr. Gajadhur Aveenash): Vrishabh Lutchman, Shareek Kedoo, Subham Sreekeessoon, and Vashish Annia.

🥈Notre Dame College (Supervised by Mr. Louis Patrice Savrimuthu): Léticia Tourmentin Noemie Marie, Ashley Marie Labonte Mylena Tracy, Bhanisha Mahasingh, and Loriana Germain Marie.

🥉Royal College Curepipe (Supervised by Mrs. Geenisha Devi Patroo): Daanen Mudalli, Doorgeshsingh Dwarka, Ved Pittea, and Ashfaaq Jeetoo.

The winners category 2 (Grade 12):

🥇Shrimati Indira Gandhi SSS (Supervised by Mr. Avinashsing Mungra): Moussa Bava Saib, Veer Sookun, Koomanen Cunnossamy, and Harshal Singh Mudon.

🥈Sir Leckraz Teelock State Secondary School (Supervised by Mr. Azmat Parvez Bahadoor): Milesh Jhoomuck, Muhamad Uzayr Khadaroo, Chiranjeet Anky Gunnoo, and Gaurav Jooria.

🥉Sookdeo Bissoondoyal State College (Supervised by Mr. Nabeel Ahmad Mungly): Kaushik Bhuttoo, Kelvin Vagheshrao Chinea, Muhammad Rayyan Ibrahim Hossen, and Divyeshsingh Gopal.

On that occasion a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre Trust Fund and the Aeronautical Society of Mauritius was signed by Mrs Dhunnoo, Chairperson of RGSCTF and Dr Kundomal, President of AeSM. The primary aims of the MoU would be to strengthen the mutual cooperation between the two institutions as well as promote and enlarge the exchange of technical, scientific and professional knowledge, to better serve their interests. The MoU would –

(a)  allow the sharing of information related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Aeronautics and Aviation, including information relating to scientific and technical events of mutual interest;

(b)  encourage members of both parties to exchange publications, with a view to establishing repositories of technical publications; and

(c)  identify common areas of technology for collaboration, including the joint-holding and sponsoring of seminars, workshops, and conference.
